Heliconia
Heliconia is a beautiful, exotic plant with multi-color bracts and tiny, hidden flowers. The showy colored structures we call “flowers” are actually modified leaves, called bracts, which contain the small true flowers inside them. Heliconia is so unique that once you see it, you’ll never forget it! It is the perfect addition to many different bouquets and arrangements.
Ixora
Ixora is a tropical to semi-tropical shrub that can easily be identified by its attractive cluster of flowers and leathery leaves. The name ‘Ixora’ is a genus name, and it is from the family Rubiaceae, the family of madder and coffee. This plant undergoes flowering virtually throughout the year, and is evergreen in nature.
Gingers Zingiberaceae
Tropical Gingers or Zingiberaceae are flowering plants made up of about 50 genera with a total of about 1600 known species of aromatic perennial herbs with creeping horizontal or tuberous rhizomes distributed throughout tropical Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Many of the family’s species are important ornamental, spice, or medicinal plants.
